MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team will hit the road for a Great American Conference road series at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Friday and Saturday. The Weevils will play a doubleheader on Friday beginning at 3 p.m. and conclude the series on Saturday at 1 p.m.

WEEVIL NOTES
UAM is coming off a GAC mid-week game against Ouachita Baptist University. The Weevils rallied for 13 hits and scored 11 runs while the pitching staff did their job keeping the Tigers at bay.
Connor Wilkerson got the win going 5.0 scoreless innings and striking out eight batters.
Jordan Johnson and
Cade Thompson each had three hits and two RBI.
Offensively, the UAM team average is climbing now at .254 (137-for-539) after starting quite slow. Johnson and Thompson are leading the way batting above .300. Johnson comes in hitting .400 (26-for-65) with seven home runs and 18 RBI. Thompson is hitting .333 (17-for-51) with seven doubles and seven RBI and is 3-for-3 in stolen bases.
Johnson is currently riding a 13-game hitting streak, which is the longest for a UAM player this season. His reached base streak is at 15 while Thompson has a 13-game reached base streak.
Grant Shepherd and
Andrew Piraino are behind them in average with Shepherd coming in batting .283 (17-for-60) with a home run and seven RBI, while Piraino is batting .279 (17-for-61) with five doubles and 10 RBI.
On the hill,
Matt Lundh has paced the UAM staff carrying a 1.02 ERA (2 ER in 17.2 IP) and is tied for the team-lead in K's with 23.
Livan Cordova has been solid in the starter's role as well with a 2-1 record carrying a 3.54 ERA (11 ER in 28.0 IP).
In relief,
Ojani Chacon and
River Hunt have been keys out of the pen. Chacon has surrendered 4 ER over 18.0 innings pitched and has a 3-0 record and one save. Hunt has also allowed four earned runs over 18.0 innings pitched and has a pair of saves.

RANGERS NOTES
Northwestern Oklahoma State is coming off a pair of losses, most recently losing to Northeastern State in a mid-week contest, 4-2.
The Rangers are coming in hitting .276 (180-for-651) as a team and have three batters hitting over .320.
Bryce Donovan comes in hitting .366 (26-for-71) with six home runs and 18 RBI. Jake Darrow is batting .358 (24-for-67) with a pair of doubles and 11 RBI. Yugo Hamakawa is batting .324 (22-for-68) with five doubles and 11 runs scored.
The pitching staff for Northwestern has been their biggest issue as they carry a team ERA of 8.94 (152 ER in 160.1 IP). Scott Creedon is their top arm right now in five starts. He is 2-3 with a 4.13 ERA (13 ER in 28.1 IP).
