MONTICELLO, Ark. – Each week the Weekly Weevil Write Up will take a closer look at what's in store for the University of Arkansas at Monticello in the coming days.

The UAM men's and women's basketball teams start a busy two-month stretch with a pair of contests this week. The men and women will host games at Steelman Field House Thursday night and Saturday afternoon.

Men's Basketball

After beating the University of the Ozarks 75-45 on Sunday, the UAM men's basketball team begins Great American Conference play this week.

The Weevils (1-0) first welcomes Arkansas Tech for the GAC opener at Steelman Field House for a 7:30 p.m. tip on Thursday night. The Wonder Boys (2-0) defeated the University of the Ozarks and Southwestern Christian University over the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, UAM will entertain Harding University for a 4:00 p.m. contest.

Women's Basketball

After falling late in the game at home to Williams Baptist on Saturday, the UAM women's basketball team also opens GAC play with two matchups at Steelman Field House.

The Blossoms will first host Arkansas Tech for a 5:30 tilt on Thursday night. The Golden Suns (1-0) beat Champion Christian College on Saturday.

At 2 p.m. Saturday, UAM will go up against Harding University.
