Box Score SPRINGFIELD, MO. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's basketball team came out strong as they take down Missouri S&T Tuesday. The Weevils held the Miners to the very end of the match, eventually taking the victory, 64-63.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair as the score would stay close for for most of the half. Cole Anderson knocked down two free throws to give UAM their biggest lead of the match at 9 points. The Weevils would finish out the half, taking a 35-30 lead into the locker room.
On the defensive end in the opening 20 minutes, UAM held the Miners to just 11-25 field goals and 2-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc.
Missouri S&T did not go away easily battling back to tack back the UAM lead for a brief moment in the late in the second half. The Weevils would show dominance throughout the half, refusing to lose the lead for the most of the contest. Cole Anderson tallied the final point for the Weevils on a free throw with 0:02 left to play to go up 64-63.
Cole Anderson led the charge posting 15 points and 6 rebounds.
Ray Price, Richard Feagin Jr., Josh Williams also finished in double digits tallying 14, 13, and 11.
Defensively, the Weevils registered eleven steals and four blocks while forcing MS&S into 12 turnovers.
