MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team came out with a loss tonight in their Great American Conference match-up with Harding University, 73-45.
In the first quarter, the Blossoms were throwing up shot after shot, but couldn't seem to find the net throughout the quarter. Through their best efforts, the two teams would head into the second down to the Lady Bisons.
The second and third quarters were very similar as the two teams would continue their conference battle. The Harding ladies proved to come out on top of the first half as they would head to the locker room with a lead over UAM. Coming into the third quarter, Monticello would continue getting shots up, but couldn't get them to fall as they were 1-17 on the quarter for field goals. The two would head into the fourth quarter with the lead still belonging to Harding.
The fourth quarter proved to go the Lady Bisons way as they out-scored UAM 17-9. HSU would win the game 75-39 and the Blossoms fall to a 0-1 record in conference play.
Bailey Harris led the charge posting 11 points and 8 rebounds.
Defensively, the Blossoms registered six steals and five blocks while forcing HU into 11 turnovers.
