MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team came out with a loss tonight in their Great American Conference match-up with Ouachita Baptist University, 87-59.
In the first quarter, the Blossoms were throwing up shot after shot, coming out 8-17 for field goals and 5-8 on three pointers. Through their best efforts, the two teams would head into the second quarter with UAM on top 23-22.
The second and third quarters were very similar as the two teams would continue their conference battle. The Tigers proved to come out on top of the first half as they would head to the locker room with a lead over UAM. Coming into the third quarter, Monticello would continue getting shots up, but couldn't get them to fall as they were 3-14 on the quarter for field goals. The two would head into the fourth quarter with the lead still belonging to Ouachita Baptist.
The fourth quarter proved to go the Tigers' way as they out-scored UAM 20-16. OBU would win the game 87-59 and the Blossoms fall to a 0-4 record in conference play.
Taylor Flores led the charge posting 17 points and 3 rebounds.
Defensively, the Blossoms registered six steals and six blocks while forcing OBU into 14 turnovers.
