MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's basketball team came out with a win Saturday over Ouachita Baptist University. The Weevils continue their dominating run as they cruised through the Tigers with a 70-60 victory, increasing their win-streak to 3.
The first half started hot for the Weevils as they took an early lead and held it till the 5 minutes mark. The Tigers would take back a 24-22 lead and refused to lose that lead for the remainder of the half. The Weevils would head to the locker room down 33-32 to the Ouachita Baptist team.
Coming into the second half, the Weevils were hungry to take back the lead from the Tigers. OBU kept the lead for the first few minutes of the second half, but UAM would find their way and take back a 42-40 lead with 14:55 on the clock. The Weevils went on an 8-0 run to establish that they were the stronger team and held that lead for the remainder of the match. The Monticello boys would out-score the Tigers 38-27 as they finished the second half, taking the victory 70-60.
Josh Williams led the charge posting 16 points and 4 rebounds.
Ray Price and Cole Anderson also finished in double digits tallying 15 and 10.
Defensively, the Weevils registered eleven steals and two block while forcing OBU into sixteen turnovers.
