MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team came out with a loss tonight in their Great American Conference match-up with Southern Nazarene University, 94-44.
In the first quarter, the Blossoms were throwing up shot after shot, coming out 4-12 for field goals and 0-2 on three pointers. Through their best efforts, the two teams would head into the second quarter with the Storm on top.
The second quarter proved not much different for the Blossoms as they only made 12.5% of their field goals. The Storm defense would put up a fight, limiting UAM to only 8 field goal attempts on the quarter. The teams would finish the half and head to the locker rooms with SNU still on top.
The third quarter proved to be much stronger for UAM as they was able to put more shots in the air, going 6-17 on field goals and 2-8 on shots beyond the arc.
The fourth quarter showed a a similar showing as the two teams would continue their conference battle, SNU proving to have the match go their way as they would win the game 94-44 and the Blossoms fall to a 0-11 record in conference play.
Taylor Flores led the charge for the Blossoms, posting 14 points and 4 rebounds.
Defensively, the Blossoms registered five steals and three blocks while forcing SNU into 12 turnovers.
The Blossoms will be back in action on Saturday, January 22nd as they take on Oklahoma Baptist University in a Great American Conference match-up at Steelman Field House. The game is set to begin at 1:00 PM.
