MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's basketball team fell in a Great American Conference match-up against Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday, 80-68.

The first half was not an ideal beginning for the Weevils. Though UAM was the first to score in the match, after the first 10 minutes, they would not see another lead for the remainder of the half. The Bison defense proved to be a force as they stopped any momentum that Monticello had. The Weevils were able to put up 20 points throughout the entirety, but trailed Oklahoma Baptist 37-20 as the two teams would head into the locker room.

The second half proved to be a much better showcase from the Weevils as they went back and forth with OBU for the remainder of the game. UAM put up 48 points compared to the Bison's 43 points. Even with Monticello having given best efforts, they were unable to take back the lead OBU had built. UAM finished out the match with a final score of 80-68.

Richard Feagin Jr. finished as the leading scorer for the Weevils tallying 25 points in the game. Wesley Booker also contributed a strong amount, giving the Weevils 19 points of his own.
