MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's basketball team came up on the right end of an 80-69 decision during Tuesday's make up, Great American Conference match-up with East Central University at Steelman Field House.
UAM (10-11) had five players score in double figures. The Weevils saw the Tigers make many mental mistakes and capitalized on them.
Ray Price, Jabari Sweet, Wesley Booker, Richard Feagin Jr, and Josh Williams each reached double figures for Arkansas-Monticello
Price totaled 18 points and has now scored in double figures in 13 games, five of which he scored over 20 for the Weevils this season.
Sweet tallied 18 points as well and has reached 10-plus points in 3 different outings this season.
Booker put up 11 points of his own and has contributed double digit points in 4 seperate appearances this season.
Feagin and Williams both scored 10 points a-piece for the Weevils.
The Weevils were the first to score, putting in the first four points of the game on Ray Price and Cole Anderson lay-ups. Though UAM was the first to score, they would quickly lose that lead as the Tigers pushed back, taking the control back from UAM for two brief moments throughout the half's entirety. offense began to attack. The Weevils were able to put up 37 points throughout the entirety, leading ECU 37-32 as the two teams would head into the locker room.
The second half proved to go Arkansas-Monticello's way as well as they went back and forth with ECU for the remainder of the game. UAM would put up 43 points compared to the Tigers' 37 points. Through best efforts the Weevils would hold on to the lead they had built on ECU. UAM finished out the match with a final score of 80-69.
The Weevils move to 10-11 on the season, with a 6-9 GAC record.
