Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Women's basketball team traveled to Russellville, Arkansas to play a make-up, Great American Conference match on Monday against Arkansas Tech University. Four different Blossoms were able to scored in double digits for UAM. The girls would play in a strong back and forth game against ATU, before eventually falling 93-61.
The Blossoms were second to score on a three-pointer from Hayley Flores. UAM would lose that lead as Tech would go on a run, taking a 15-6 lead in the first 5 minutes. Monticello would battle back, but head into the second quarter down to ATU.
The second quarter turned out to be very similar to the first as both teams continued throwing up shots. Hayley Flores would give UAM every point in the quarter. The Golden Suns would hold their lead as the half came to a close, and the two teams would head to the locker room, with the overall score, 46-15.
The third and fourth quarters were very similar as both teams came out of the for the second half hungry. The Blossoms proved to show a much stronger showing, out scoring Tech by 2 points in the third quarter and three less than ATU in the fourth. Monticello would go 8-19 on field goals in the third and 8-17 in the fourth. The two teams would continue their conference battle, Arkansas Tech proving to have the match go their way as they would win the game 93-61 and the Blossoms fall to 0-23 on the season with an 0-17 record in conference play.
Hayley Flores, Bailey Harris, Madison Weydert, and Shania Smith each had over 10 points on the night, totaling 19, 14, 10 and 10.
Defensively, the Blossoms registered 6 steals and 5 blocks, forcing ATU into 14 turnovers.

UAM will be back in action Thursday, Feb. 17th as they travel to Shwanee, Oklahoma for a Great American Conference match-up with Oklahoma Baptist University. The game is set to start at 5:30 PM.
