Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team came out with a loss tonight against Ouachita Baptist University in their final match-up of the 2021-2022 basketball season, 89-54.
In the first quarter, the Tigers were the first to score on a three-pointer, but the Blossoms would follow up with a jump shot from Taylor East. Throwing up shot after shot, they came up 4-11 for field goals and 0-4 on three pointers. Through their best efforts, the two teams would head into the second quarter with the Tigers on top.
The second quarter leaned more towards OBU's way as they outscored the Blossoms 28-10. The UAM offense would put up a fight, but only put in 4-11 field goal attempts on the quarter. The teams would finish the half and head to the locker rooms with OBU still on top.
The third quarter proved to be very similar to the second. UAM was able to put more shots in the air, going 4-13 on field goals and 0-1 on shots beyond the arc.
The fourth quarter showed a massive shift in momentum as UAM turned the tables on the Tigers, outscoring them by 5 points. The two teams would continue their conference battle, OBU proving to have the match go their way as they would win the game 89-54 and the Blossoms finish out the season 0-20 in conference play.
Trinity McDowell led the charge for the Blossoms, posting 12 points, 9 rebounds, and a block. Bailey Harris was also all a big part of the UAM offense, putting up 10 points of her own.
Defensively, the Blossoms registered three steals and four blocks, while forcing OBU into 10 turnovers.
The Blossoms finish out the year with an 0-28 record overall.
