FORT SMITH, AR. – The Arkansas-Monticello men's golf team opened up their spring season in the Hardscrabble Invitational on Monday afternoon. Five Weevils are competing in the match together and one is playing individually. The UAM team finished in 6th place after day 1, and finished the tournament in 7th.
T.J. Baker led the Weevils throughout the tournament. He finished the event tied for 16th and carded 15-over for the Invitational.
Tyler Garrigus competed individually in event, shooting a 82 in round 1, a 71 in round 2, and a 74 in round 3. He finished the tournament tied for 22nd.
Andrew Pearson finished tied for 30th place. He shot a 73 in round 1, followed by a 77 in round 2 and an 82 in round 3.
Ethan Bearden's best round came in round 2, where he shot a 75. He finished the tournament tied for 39th with scores of 81, 75, and 80.
Julian Audibert finished tied for 44th place, shooting an 84, 75, and an 80.
Chase Gedak was the final Weevil to compete, finishing tied for 53rd. He shot a round 1, 77, followed by an 82 in round 2 and an 83 in round 3.

The UAM men's golf team return to the course on Monday, Mar. 21 when the Weevils head to the Mystic Creek Collegiate hosted by Southern Arkansas University in El Dorado, Arkansas.
