Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball traveled to Cleveland, Mississippi for a mid-week match-up with Delta State University on Tuesday afternoon. UAM would unfortunately fall to the Statesmen, 16-2.
The Statesmen were the first to score, as they quickly took a dominant 9-0 lead over UAM in the second.
The Weevils were only able to score 2 runs throughout the games entirety. Those two runs came in the top of the third inning when
Cade Thompson hit a two run bomb over the right field wall.
Chase Cripps would score on the blast as well.
Through best efforts, Monticello was unable to score another run, falling to Delta State, 16-2.
Pitching Performances
The UAM pitching staff had its work cut out for them, totaling four different pitchers in the game.
Charles Peacock started on the mound, totaling 1.1 innings pitched with 8 runs allowed on 4 hits. The right-hander stuck out two batters.
Jack Barna would enter the game in the second, tallying 0.2 inning pitched with 4 runs allowed on 3 hit. He also struck out two batters and had one walks.
Cameron Johnson took his turn on the mound, throwing 3.0 innings with 4 runs allowed. He had 5 strike outs.
Jacob McDaniel would close out the last inning of the game for the Weevils. He would put up 1 strike out and 1 walk while allowing 0 hits.

Cade Thompson - Went 1-2 with a 2 run home run.
The loss drops Arkansas-Monticello to 15-16 on the season as they prepare for their upcoming GAC series with Ouachita Baptist University.
