Volleyball Drops Final Road Game of the Season

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team traveled to play in-state Great American Conference member, Henderson State University, on Thursday evening. The Blossoms played three total sets, falling to the Reddies, 3-0.

The opening set started with a battle for control between the Blossoms and the Reddies. This back and forth continued through the entirety of the first half of the set, before HSU took the lead with a five point streak. UAM wasn't done, as the Blossoms responded with four straight points of their own, making it a one point game going into the back half of the set. The teams traded points back and forth again, but the Reddies came out on top, winning set one 25-20.

Set two began with an early lead by the home team, but Arkansas-Monticello was ready and found multiple rallies of their own. The teams exchanged points between the two of them heading into the mid part of the set. The Reddies put together a seven point run for a 21-10 advantage. The Blossoms continued to fight back, but were not able to catch back up to the Reddies, dropping the set 25-14.

The third and final set took off with another lead by the Reddies, but a big block by Natalie White and Kerrigan Biggs brought an end to the Reddies early rally. HSU still had the lead going into the mid-point of the set, but a kill by Abrielle Jordan gave the Blossoms some life. The Reddies held on to control of the set, winning over the Blossoms 25-9.

Kerrigan Biggs led the Blossoms in kills with 7 on the night.

Bruna Silva and Jordan Wehr each contributed 11 assists in the match.

Defensively, the Blossoms were led by Stasha Adams with 14 digs on the night.
