MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team hosted Ouachita Baptist University at Weevils Field for game three their Great American Conference series on Monday. The Weevils came out of the Monday match-up with a 13-0 win over the Tigers.

With the 1-2 finish on the weekend, Arkansas-Monticello improves its GAC record to 6-3.

Scoring Recap:
UAM scored first, putting six runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Kirk Woolf brought the first two runs home on a home run over the left center wall, followed by a 2 RBI double to right center from Noah Estrem. Chase Cripps scored on a ground out to the shortstop and Estrem plated the final run of the inning on a Logan Jones double down the right field line.

Arkansas-Monticello found four more runs in the second inning, with Chaz Poppy ripping a single to left field to score Cade Thompson and Alex Austin driving in three runs on a double down the left field line.

A two-run Brasi Bomb from Cade Thompson in the fifth would extend the Boll Weevil lead to 12-0.

Noah Estrem crossed the plate in the sixth to give UAM a thirteenth run in the ball game.

The Tigers were unable to respond and the game would come to an end with a 13-0 victory for UAM.

Pitching Performances
- Mason Philley started on the mound in the first game of the day, tossing a 7.0 inning, complete game shutout with only 4 hits. He also struck out 10

- Noah Estrem - 2-for-3 with 1 Double, 3 Runs Scored, 2 RBI and 1 Walk

- Cade Thompson - 2-for-4 with 1 Home Run, 3 Runs Scored, 2 RBI and a Walk

The win on the day pushes Arkansas-Monticello to an 11-6, 6-3 GAC record for the 2023 season.
