MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team hosted rival Southern Arkansas University at Weevils Field for a non-conference mid-week game on Tuesday afternoon. The Weevils came out of with a 17-4 loss to the rival Muleriders.

Scoring Recap:
Southern Arkansas was the first team to get on the board, scoring a single run in the second on a double to left field.
Cade Cancilla was the first Boll Weevil to cross the plate, scoring on a wild pitch in the second. UAM would close out the inning with a runner left on base and head into the third with a 1-1 game.
The Muleriders left 3 runners on base to end their third inning as
Kirk Woolf made an incredible diving play for the third out. The Weevils found two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning with
Logan Jones scoring on a fielders choice and
Cade Thompson scored on an error by the shortstop.
SAU picked up four runs in the fourth to reclaim a 5-3 lead over UAM, followed by six more runs in the sixth inning.
Chaz Poppy launched a solo home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the sixth to give the Weevils their final run of the game.
Southern Arkansas would follow up with three home runs in the seventh to tack on six more runs.
The mid-week would come to an end with a 17-4 loss to SAU.
