Weevils Take Down Rangers on Senior Day for Series Sweep

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team hosted Northwestern Oklahoma State University for game three of their Great American Conference series. The Weevils came out with a 4-1 victory over the Rangers on Senior Day.

Scoring Recap:
The Rangers scored first in game three, hitting a solo home run over the left center wall in the fourth.

A SAC fly from Chase Cripps, followed by a two-run home run from Kirk Woolf in the bottom of the fifth gave the Weevils a 3-1 lead.

Cade Cancilla plated the fourth run of the game for UAM in the sixth, scoring from third on a wild pitch.

Northwestern was unable to respond for the remainder of the game, resulting in a senior day win and a senior weekend sweep for the Weevils.

Pitching Performances
- Derek Potts started on the mound for UAM in game one, taking the win with 7.0 innings pitched with 1 run allowed on 2 hits. He also struck out 6 Rangers.
- Lane Ladner saw 1.1 innings of work, allowing 0 runs on 1 hit with a strikeout.
- River Hunt closed out the last 0.2 inning in the ninth, allowing 0 runs on 0 hits.

Offensive Showcase
- Kirk Woolf - 2-for-3 with 1 Home Run, 2 RBI, 1 Run Scored and 1 Walk

The sweep on the weekend pushes Arkansas-Monticello to a 25-16 overall, 16-11 GAC record for the 2023 season.
