MUSKOGEE, OK. – The Arkansas-Monticello men's golf team opened the 2023-24 season in the NSU Men's Golf Classic Tournament on Monday afternoon at the Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Oklahoma. UAM finished the opening two rounds of the tournament tied for seventh place.
Newcomer
Aidan Rooke led the Weevils throughout day one, closing out the first two rounds of the tournament tied for 9th overall. Rooke shot a 1-over 72 in his opening round, followed by a 2-under 69 in his second.
Owen Page came out of the first day shooting a 3-over 75 in his season opener, followed by an even par 72 to conclude the second. He finished day one of the tournament tied for 32nd.
Ethan Bearden and
Daniel Taylor are both tied for 50th place after the first day. Each shooting a 74 in the first round of the day and a 76 in round two.
Chase Kisver is the final Weevil competing in the tournament. He shot an 81 in his opening 18 holes, improving to a 3-over 74 in his second round. Kisver finished the opening round of the tournament in 81st place overall.
