ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team traveled to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on in-state, Great American Conference member Ouachita Baptist University on Tuesday evening. The Blossoms played three total sets and ended up with a loss to the Tigers.

The opening set began with the UAM scoring first, followed by a couple shift in the lead. Ouachita Baptist took control soon after and lead 11-4 after a few rallies. UAM climbed their way back to an 22-17 game after a rally with multiple kills from Jasmine Welton, but unfortunately were unable to regain the lead. The set would end with a 25-17 loss to the Tigers.

Set two began with Ouachita Baptist taking an early 2-0 lead over Arkansas-Monticello. After multiple rallies, the Blossoms saw the lead change seven different times, with 10 different ties in the set, before the home team eventually scored the final point. UAM fell to a 0-2 on the match after dropping set two, 25-22.

The third and final set proved to be similar to the second, as OUA took an early lead. The match saw the score tie eight times before the Tigers took a 9-8 lead. A 5-0 rally, followed by a 4-0 rally for Ouachita Baptist, lead to a 21-12 deficit for UAM. The set would end with a 25-15 final score and a 3-0 conference loss for Arkansas-Monticello.

Jasmine Welton once again led the Blossoms in kills with 10 on the night.

Bruna Silva contributed 11 assists in the match, followed by Jordan Wehr with 10 assists of her own.

Defensively, the Blossoms were once again led by Jasmine Welton, collecting7 digs for the Blossoms.

Arkansas-Monticello is back on the court for the first conference home game of the season against Great American Conference foe Southern Arkansas University. The game is scheduled to take place on Thursday September, 21 at 6:00 p.m.
