Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Women's Basketball team traveled to compete against conference member, Arkansas Tech University Saturday afternoon. The Blossoms came out with a 94-42 loss to the Golden Suns.
Bailey Harris was the leading scorer for Arkansas-Monticello (6-12, 2-10 GAC) with 12 points, going 3-12 on total field goals, 2-2 on threes, and 4-9 on shots from the free throw line. Harris was the leader in rebounds, grabbing three offensive and three defensive on the afternoon, while also contributing a steal in her 23 minutes.
Alyssia Thorne followed behind with 9 points on the day. Thorne hit 3-11 field goals and 3-3 free throws, while also giving the Blossoms one offensive and four defensive rebounds on top of an assist and steal.
Arkansas Tech (9-7, 6-6 GAC) was led by
Clara Grace Prater with 15 points.
Blakemore opened the game for Monticello with a three on their first possession within 30 seconds of the game. The Golden Suns took the lead for the remainder of the quarter, seeing the Blossoms right on their heels. The score going into the second had Arkansas-Monticello trailing Arkansas Tech 18-26.
Quarter two proved to once again go to Arkansas Tech as they would outscore Monticello, 28-9. The teams would head to the locker room at half time with Arkansas-Monticello trailing Arkansas Tech, 54-27.
The third quarter was the lowest scoring period for UAM with the Blossoms posting only three points throughout its entirety. UAM trailed ATU 74-30 heading into the final quarter of the game.
Arkansas Tech saw a 20 point quarter for the second time of the game while UAM was only able to post 12. The game came to an end with the Golden Suns on top, 94-42.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 23 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Blossoms return to action on Thursday, Feb. 1 when they travel to play against out-of-state conference member Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
