MAGNOLIA, Ark, - Arkansas-Monticello Volleyball (4-9, 0-3) dropped their match against the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University (9-3, 3-1) by a final score of 0-3 (23-25, 21-25, 15-25) on Tuesday, at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.
Set 1
The Muleriders were quick out of the gate with an, 8-4 score. The Blossoms quickly responded to cut the lead to just three, 9-6. SAU tried to gain the lead again, however UAM was able to hold the game, 14-13. The Blossoms began a rally, but the Muleriders wouldn't relinquish control taking a five-point advantage, 21-16. Not giving up, UAM once again brought the score to within three, 23-20. Despite getting the score to 24-23, a service error off Arkansas-Monticello gave Southern Arkansas a 25-23 win, and a lead in the match 1-0.
Set 2
The set started evenly matched for the first time, with the Blossoms controlling the scoreboard, 3-2. Southern Arkansas rapidly responded, putting their points on the board to make it a tied set, 7-7. The Blossoms began to pull away taking a seven-point lead, 11-7, however, the Muleriders would keep them there as they brought the score back to, 11-11. The Muleriders would take their first lead of the set with a kill, 11-12. Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas traded off on one-point increments to bring the match to, 16-17. The Muleriders began to gain an advantage, 18-22, but the Blossoms brought it to within three, 20-23. The Muleriders would again prove victorious in the set winning, 25-21, and taking a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3
Looking to begin a redemption arc, the Cotton Blossoms would start the set down 6-0. The Muleriders scored another two points, off a kill and an error, to take an 8-0 lead. The Blossoms would earn their way onto the scoreboard off two-straight kills from
Valeria Velez, 2-8. UAM not looking to go home early, brought the game to within two, 11-13. Southern Arkansas, not giving up their lead scored five unanswered, 18-11, to once again take a six-point lead. Even with the early rally, the Blossoms could not knock the Muleriders off their saddle, losing the final set 25-15, and the match 3-1.
Mia Smalls assisted in the night with 17 attacks.
Setter
Jordan Wehr led with 12 digs, with Middle blocker
Abrielle Jordan recording 8 kills for UAM.
Junior
Holiday Ellis led both sides of the net in serving aces with three.

- This was the 39th meeting between the Blossoms and Muleriders.
