DUNCAN, Okla. - The University of Arkansas-Monticello Men's Golf team finished the first day of the Hrnciar Invitational, hosted by Cameron Univeristy, in 14th place Monday. Through two rounds at the Territory Country Club, the Weevils have shot a combined score of 633 (+57), while fellow GAC member Southern Nazarene sits in eighth after a score of 29-over par (605).
Leading the Boll Weevils on day one,
Chase Kisver currently sits tied for 35th, with a score of 9-over par (153). Kisver shot 6-over par (78) in the first round of the day before firing a second round of 75 (+3).
After shooting 7-over par (79) in round one and 5-over par (77) in round 2,
Owen Page sits tied for 48 with a final day one score of 12-over par (156).
Aidan Rooke tied for 60th with a two-round combined score of 160 (+16). Rooke fired an 81 (+9) in the opening round before finishing the day with a score of 79 (+7).
Daniel Taylor finished with a final score of 164 (+20) on the opening day, tying for 70th. Taylor scored 82 (+10) in both rounds of the day.
Carson Slaughter finished the day off for the Weevils, finishing in 73rd place with a score of 166 (+22) after completing the first round 12-over par (84) and the second round 10-over par (82).l
Combined for the day, UAM recorded seven birdies throughout 36 holes. Senior
Owen Page led the day with three.
The Weevils are back on the greens tomorrow, Oct. 22, as they compete in the final round of the Hrnciar Invitational from the Territory Country Club in Duncan, Oklahoma.
