Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team hosted East Central University on Saturday for game one of their three game conference series. The Boll Weevils came out of the home opener with an 11-1 victory over the Tigers.

Scoring Recap:
The Boll Weevils struck first, scoring three runs in the third thanks to a pair of RBI singles and an RBI double to score the final run of the inning.

UAM found four more in the next inning, as the Boll Weevil bats continued heating up. The fourth would close with Monticello leading 7-0.

Two runs were scored in both the fifth and sixth innings for UAM to push their total to 11 on the day.

A consolation run crossed the plate for East Central in the top of the seventh, but would prove no use as the game would close on an unassisted ground ball to first.

The win on the day pushes Arkansas-Monticello to a 2-5, 1-0 GAC start to the 2024 season.

Arkansas-Monticello is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 18 when they host East Central University for games two and three of their Great American Conference series. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m.
