MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's Basketball continued with conference play on Thursday evening when they hosted out-of-state conference member Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The Weevils came out with a 85-67 loss to the Savage Storm.
Isaac Jackson led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (9-11,7-8 GAC) with 28 points, going 11-22 on total field goals, 2-3 on threes, and 4-4 from the line. Jackson also contributed seven rebounds, and three assists in his 39 minutes of play.
Zane Nelson followed close behind, posting 14 points for the Boll Weevils. Nelson hit 5-11 total field goals, 3-5threes, and 1-2 shots from the line with two steals in his 32 minutes of play.
Southeastern Oklahoma (16-7,12-3 GAC) was led by
Brennen Burns with 18 points.
The Weevils scored the first points of the game on a layup from
Timur Krupalija to take an early 2-0 lead. UAM was unable to maintain their lead, after seeing SE took control for the rest of the first half, but the Weevils stayed within reach throughout the entirety of the opening 20 minutes. The teams were sent to the locker rooms with SE leading, 44-36.
The second 20 minutes saw the Savage Storm continue to stretch their lead over the Weevils. SE held control for the rest of the half keeping their lead of 18 for most of the half. The Weevils would conclude the game with a 85-67 loss to the Savage Storm.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 10 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Weevils return to Steelman Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 10 when they host out-of-state conference member East Central University. The game is scheduled to tip off at 3:00 p.m.
