SEARCY, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team traveled to Harding University on Saturday afternoon to compete in a three game conference series against the Bisons. The Blossoms closed out game one of the series with a 3-2 loss to the Bisons.

Scoring Recap:
The Bisons were the first to score in game one of the series with a solo home run in the bottom of the second.
Harding scored again in the bottom of the third with a two run home run making the game 3-0.
Monticello plated their first run in the sixth as
Grace Neal brought in
Kennedy Cox on a double down the right field line to make it a 3-1 game.
The top of the seventh opened with
Maggie Miller drawing a lead off walk, followed by a single to the pitcher from Emmy Apadoca to get the rally started. A SAC bunt from
Courtnee Sensibaugh put the Blossoms in scoring position. UAM scored on a wild pitch making the game 3-2. Unfortunately, the Blossoms were unable to find another run of the day, seeing the tie run thrown out at home to kill the rally.
The loss on the day drops Arkansas-Monticello to a 12-11, 4-3 GAC record in the 2024 season.

Arkansas-Monticello is back to work, Sunday Mar. 10, as they look to complete the series against in-state conference member Harding University. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. with the double header to follow.
