Weevils Drop Midweek Game Against SAU

Box Score MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team traveled to Southern Arkansas University to compete in a non-conference game on Tuesday evening. The Weevils dropped the single game against the Muleriders 11-0.

Game 1, 7 Innings

Arkansas-Monticello: 0, Southern Arkansas: 11
WP: Stetson Bishop (1-0)
LP: Zach Boyer (0-2)

Scoring Recap:
SAU took the lead early on in the game, scoring in the first inning off of back-to-back solo home runs, and a SAC fly to make the game 3-0.

The Muleriders scored another run in the bottom of the second, pushing their lead to 4-0.

Monticello once again couldn't put together any runs in the top of the third inning, and the Mulerider's would capitalize on this by scoring another five runs to stretch their lead to 9-0 over the Weevils.

Southern Arkansas went on to score two more runs increasing their lead to 11-0. Despite the Weevils' efforts, they were unable to come up with runs needed to take the lead, dropping the non-conference game 11-0.
