MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team closed out their three game series with Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Saturday afternoon. After five innings of baseball in the pouring rain, the Weevils reigned victorious, taking the sweep over the Bulldogs with a 6-0 win.

Scoring Recap:
The Boll Weevils struck first in the third inning, scoring five runs n the Bulldogs thanks to a 2 RBI home run to right center field, followed by an RBI single through the four-hole, as well as a bases loaded hit by pitch and a walk.

UAM found a sixth run in the fourth on a Camden Tanner home run over the wall in right field.

After the Bulldogs were unable to respond in the top of the fifth, the game was called in the bottom of the inning due to lightning and weather coming in for the remainder of the afternoon.

The sweep on the weekend pushes Arkansas-Monticello to a 25-18, 21-8 GAC record for the 2024 season.

Arkansas-Monticello is back in action Tuesday, April 23, when they travel to Clinton, Mississippi for a non-conference match-up against Mississippi College. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. .
