MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball program saw freshman right fielder
Camden Tanner named the NCBWA Central Region Player of the Week.
On Tuesday, Tanner received the honor from the Great American Conference as the conference player of the week. The selection came after his performance in the Weevils' sweep over Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
On the weekend, Tanner held an .800 batting average and a 1.800 slugging percentage after going 8-10 over three games with three home runs and one double. On top of his impressive weekend average at the plate, Tanner was walked twice, intentionally walked once, and drove in a run on a SAC fly to hold an on-base percentage of .769.
Throughout the three games, Tanner drove in eight RBI and crossed the plate four times himself. He also saw no strikeout on the weekend.
The weekend pushed his batting average to .445 for the 2023 season.
