MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Women's Basketball hosted Great American Conference member Southeastern Oklahoma State University on Saturday afternoon. The Blossoms came out of the contest with an 80-70 loss to the Savage Storm.
Bailey Harris led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (8-6, 3-5 GAC), scoring 16 points in the match-up. Harris hit 7-13 field goals on the day, 1-3 three-pointers, and 1-2 free throws. She also contributed three rebounds in her 31 minutes played, with one defensive and two offensive.
Alyssa Batton followed close behind in double-digits on the afternoon, posting 11 points of her own. Batton went 5-7 on field goals and 1-2 on threes with three rebounds.
Haleigh Crews was the final Blossom in double-digits, with 10 points in the game. Crews was 3-10 in field goals, 2-4 three-pointers, and 2-2 free throws with five rebounds and three assists.
Southeastern Oklahoma (9-5, 6-2 GAC)
was led by
Kenzli Warden with 20 points.
The Storm won the opening quarter of the game, seeing Southeastern Oklahoma outscore UAM 24-12, but the Blossoms fought back in the second quarter to outscore the Storm 18-16. The teams would head to the locker room at half-time with SE leading, 40-30.
The Storm offense pushed forward again in the third quarter, extending their lead to 15 points. The Blossoms fought back in the fourth quarter to bring the game back within five points. Unfortunately, Southeastern Oklahoma ultimately prevailed, leading to an 80-70 loss for the Blossoms.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 19 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Blossoms will play another conference game on Thursday, January 16. They will travel to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and the game will tip off at 5:30 p.m.
