Women's Basketball Open Oklahoma Trip with a Loss to NWOSU

ALVA, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Women's Basketball team traveled to compete against out-of-state conference member Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Thursday evening. The Blossoms came out with a 74-57 loss to the Lady Rangers.

Bailey Harris and Camille Pritchard led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (8-7, 3-6 GAC), scoring 10 points each in the match-up, respectively. Harris hit 4-8 field goals on the day and 2-4 free throws. She also contributed seven rebounds in her 31 minutes played, with four defensive and three offensive. She grabbed four assists and two steals. Pritchard hit 4-8 field goals on the day, 1-2 three pointers, and 1-2 free throws. She also contributed three rebounds in her 9 minutes played, with one defensive and two offensive. 
 
Northwestern Oklahoma (7-8, 4-5 GAC) was led by Carly Craig and Jaida Shipp with 19 points each.

Arkansas-Monticello won the opening quarter of the game, after seeing back-and-forth baskets throughout the period, with the Blossoms outscoring NWOSU 14-11. The Lady Rangers fought back in the second quarter to outscore the Blossoms 17-9. The teams would head to the locker room at half-time with Northwestern Oklahoma leading, 28-23. 

The Lady Rangers offense pushed forth their momentum to outscore the Blossoms 16-15 in the third quarter and 30-19 in the fourth quarter, increasing the advantage. Northwestern Oklahoma's hold on the lead eventually came to a close with the Blossoms trailing, 74-57. 

Arkansas-Monticello committed 20 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Blossoms will play another conference game on Saturday, January 18. They will travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and the game will tip off at 1:00 p.m.
