ALVA, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's Basketball team continued conference play on Thursday evening when they traveled to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, an out-of-state conference member. The Weevils lost 73-68 to the Rangers.
Leading Arkansas-Monticello (4-11, 1-8 GAC) with a season-high 30 points in the game was
Seth Grandberry. Grandberry hit 10-20 field goals, 4-8 shots from three-point range, and 6-10 free throws while grabbing nine rebounds, five assists, one block, and four steals. This was the first Weevil to score 30 or more in a game since
Zane Nelson when he posted 36 against Arkansas Tech in the 2023-24 season.
Northwestern Oklahoma (7-8, 4-5 GAC) was led by
Cam McDowell with 37 points.
The first half of the game was won by the Rangers as both teams would see back-and-forth baskets, causing six different lead changes throughout the period. The teams would head to the locker room at half-time with the Weevils trailing, 33-30.
The second 20-minute period was again a battle throughout its entirety, seeing four different lead changes throughout the period. Unfortunately, Northwestern Oklahoma prevailed in the end, leading to a 73-68 loss for the Weevils.
Arkansas-Monticello committed 17 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Weevils will return to the court on Saturday, January 18, in Weatherford, Oklahoma when they travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
