MONTICELLO, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello Women's Basketball team returns to Steelman Fieldhouse on Thursday, Jan. 30, and Feb. 1 after a thrilling overtime win on Saturday against the Golden Suns. The Cotton Blossoms will start the week against the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene University on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. facing the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1:00 p.m.

"Two conference-leading teams coming to our place," said Head Coach David Midlick. "Both teams are very talented and well coached. Looking forward to playing at home Thursday and Saturday."

LAST MEETING
Southern Nazarene University - The Blossoms dropped their last meeting to the Crimson Storm earlier in the season 88-51. Haleigh Crews led the way for Arkansas-Monticello, scoring 12 points in the match-up. Crews hit 6-10 field goals on the day and 0-1 three-pointers. She also contributed four assists. Camille Pritchard followed close behind on the afternoon, posting 11 points of her own. Pritchard went 4-12 on field goals and 3-6 from range with four rebounds. Arkansas-Monticello committed 23 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

Oklahoma Baptist University - UAM fell to the Bison in the last match earlier this season in Shawnee, 70-64. Camille Pritchard led the way for Arkansas-Monticello, scoring 21 points in the match-up. Pritchard hit 7-19 field goals on the day 2-8 on three-pointers, and 5-7 from the free throw line. She also contributed one steal. Bailey Harris followed close behind on the afternoon, posting 15 points of her own. Harris went 5-13 on field goals and 5-8 from the free throw line, with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Arkansas-Monticello committed eight turnovers in the entirety of the match.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Southern Nazarene University - SNU currently leads UAM with a 9-15 overall recorded. The two teams first contested each other in 1992 at the Sugar Bear Classic taking away the first win between the two, 98-84. The first GAC match occurred on January 10, 2023, with a 52-61 loss. The largest margin of victory came in Feb. 2016 with a final score of 84-67. At home, the Blossoms have a 6-5 record, while on the road they are 2-10. The green and white have averaged 60.83 points per game with a total of 1,460 points in 24 games played.

Oklahoma Baptist University - The Bison holds the winning advantage over the Blossoms with an overall record of 8-12. OBU and UAM played each other three times in neutral locations in 1981, 84, and 98 with UAM taking two of the three. The first GAC game was a 54-59 loss on Jan. 9, 2016. The largest margin of victory came on Jan. 25, 2020, with an 80-30 win against the Bison. The Blossoms are averaging 67.5 points per game, with 1,350 points in 20 games played.

LAST TIME OUT FOR UAM
  • UAM went 1-1 last week, falling to the Muleriders of  Southern Arkansas University in overtime, 68-66, on Thursday, Jan. 23, and defeating the Golden Suns of Arkansas Tech University in overtime, 63-60, on Saturday, January 25.
    • The first season since the 2008-09 season to feature back-to-back overtimes.
