MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello's Men's Basketball team hosted the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene University on Thursday evening. The game concluded with a 76-65 loss for the Boll Weevils.

Seth Grandberry led Arkansas-Monticello (4-15, 1-12 GAC) again with 21 points on the evening. Grandberry hit 9-21 field goals and 3-12 three-pointers while grabbing six rebounds and two assists.

Jamir Turner followed close behind in double-digits, posting 15 points of his own. Turner was 4-9 on field goals and 7-12 on free throws with nine rebounds and one assist.

Devin Davis was the final Boll Weevil in double-digits, scoring 13 on the evening. Davis finished 5-9 on field goals, 1-3 on three-pointers, and 2-5 on free throws with one defensive rebound.

Southern Nazarene (15-2, 12-1 GAC) was led by Stevie Strong with 16 points.

The first half of the game proved to be an intense back-and-forth between the teams. After 11 lead changes in the period, Southern Nazarene eventually closed the half with a 37-28 lead.

Southern Nazarene won the second 20-minute period, outscoring the Weevils 39-37. The Storm increased their lead to a game-high 15 points, holding the lead for the remainder of the game, eventually winning 76-65 over Arkansas-Monticello. 

Arkansas-Monticello committed 11 turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Weevils will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 1, in Monticello, Arkansas, when they host the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist University. The game will start at 3:00 p.m.
