EDMOND, Okla. - Arkansas-Monticello's men's golf team traveled to Edmond, Oklahoma Monday for the Skip Wagnon Invitational presented by Visit Edmond hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma. The Weevils closed the first day of the invitational with a combined score of 580 (+20), to finish in 15th place.
The Weevils shot a two-round combined score of +20, firing +9 in round one and +11 in round two. St. Mary's of Texas finished atop the leaderboard after day one at 27-under par (533). Fellow Great American Conference member Southwestern Oklahoma State sits in fourth, posting a total of 550 (-10).
Blayden Gillham led the Boll Weevils on day one, tied for 40th place at 3-over par (143). Gillham posted a first-round of 71 (+1), followed by a second-round of 72 (+2).
Landry Rogers shot a first-round of 72 (+2), before posting a second-round of 73 (+3), to finish day one tied for 58th at 5-over par (145).
Daniel Taylor,
Carson Slaughter, and
Sawyor Hamilton closed out the Weevils on day one, tied for 75th at 8-over par (148). Taylor posted a score of 7-over par (77) in round one and 1-over par (71) in round two. Slaughter posted a score of 3-over par (73) in round one and 5-over par (75) in round two. Hamilton posted a score of 3-over par (73) in round one and 5-over par (75) in round two.
The Boll Weevils combined for 25
birdies for the day, with 15
in round one and

in round two.
The Weevils will play the final round of the invitational, tomorrow Tuesday, October 7 at 8:00 a.m.
