MONTICELLO, Ark. – For the first time since the 2008-09 season, the University of Arkansas-Monticello's Blossom Basketball team will come in hosting its home opener inside Steelman Field House undefeated at 2-0. The Blossoms will host the Buffaloes of Arkansas Baptist College on Tuesday, November 18, inside Steelman Field House for the home opener which is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

*Due to current renovations to Steelman Field House there are changes in place for the 2025 season, those changes can be found below.*

"We are excited to be at home in front of our fellow students and great fans," said Head Coach David Midlick. "We have to continue to work hard daily, and the team is doing that."

LAST MEETING
Arkansas Baptist College - The Cotton Blossoms dominated the Buffaloes the last time out, winning 84-24 in Monticello. The Blossom offense dominated for the entirety of the game against Arkansas Baptist College. UAM held ABC to only nine points in the first quarter and seven in the second. The teams were sent to the locker room with Monticello on top, 37-16. The second half was even more leaned in UAM's favor as the Lady Buffaloes would only post four points in each of the final quarters. The Blossoms reigned victorious, 84-24. Bailey Harris led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (5-1), scoring 13 points in the match-up. Harris hit 5-17 field goals on the day, 1-5 three-pointers, and 2-2 free throws. Ella Mask followed close behind on the afternoon, posting 11 points of her own. Mask went 4-9 on field goals and 3-5 from range.


ALL-TIME SERIES
Arkansas Baptist College -  Entering meeting number 15 between the two squads, the Blossoms stand undefeated against the Buffaloes, standing at 14-0 overall. 10 of the 14 meetings have taken place at home, with the three being held in Little Rock, and one being held as a neutral site meeting in Monticello. The largest margin of victory came via a 100-17 win for the ladies in green in white in December of 1981. Through 14 meetings, the Blossoms have put up 1,318 points, averaging 94.14 points per game.
 

LAST TIME OUT THIS SEASON
The Blossoms went 2-0 at the MIAA/GAC Crossover, besting the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, 60-45, on Friday, November 14. Followed by a 61-54 win over the Jets of Newman University on Saturday, November 15.

ENTRANCE, RESTROOMS AND CONCESSIONS CHANGES

  • Due to current renovations to Steelman Field House, the following have been changed:
    • The entrance for the 2025 season will be on the west side of Steelman next to the football field. Fans who want to sit behind the teams are encouraged to arrive prior to tip-off, to avoid interfering with the game.
    • Portable bathrooms for all fans are on the opposite side of the Steelman next to the baseball field.
    • There will be no concessions available for home matches, and outside food and drinks will not be allowed into the gym.
