MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's basketball team (4-0, 0-0 GAC) hosted Crowley's Ridge College (0-7, 0-0 AMC) on Thursday evening inside Steelman Field House. The Blossoms came out of the matchup with a 73-24 victory over the Pioneers.
Alindsey Long and
Ella Hamlin led the way for Arkansas-Monticello (4-0, 0-0 GAC), posting 12 points in the matchup, respectively. Long hit 4-7 total field goals on the day with four three-pointers made. She also contributed two rebounds in her 12 minutes played, along with two assists and one steal. Hamlin hit 6-12 total field goals on the day. She contributed four rebounds and two steals in her 21 minutes played, along with two assists.
Jena Warden was the final Blossom in the double-digits, posting 10 points in the game. Warden went 5-11 on field goals, with six rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Crowleys Ridge (0-7, 0-0 AMC) was led by
Kyrsten Bake with 10 points.
Arkansas-Monticello held control for the entirety of the game, outscoring Crowley's Ridge in all four quarters. The Blossoms won the opening half of the game, seeing UAM outscore the Pioneers 26-8 in the first quarter and 13-2 in the second. The teams were off to the locker rooms at the half with the Blossoms on top, 39-10.
The second half saw Arkansas-Monticello once again increase its lead over Crowley's Ridge. The Blossoms posted 16 points to the Pioneer's 8, increasing the advantage to 37 points in the third quarter. The Blossom held the Pioneers to single digits once again in the fourth quarter, outscoring Crowley's Ridge 18-6. The Blossoms saw a game-high lead of 49 points after a layup from
Ella Hamlin with 0:23 left on the clock. As the time ran out, Arkansas-Monticello came out on top in a 73-24 victory.
Arkansas-Monticello committed nine turnovers in the entirety of the match.

The Blossoms return to action on Saturday, November 22, as they head to Cleveland, Mississippi for a meeting with the Lady Statesmen of Delta State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside the Walter Sillers Coliseum.
