MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Arkansas-Monticello baseball team is set to host Southern Nazarene University this weekend. They will welcome the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene on Friday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m. (single game) and Saturday, February 15 (doubleheader) at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for the first Great American Conference series of the season.

The originally scheduled non-conference midweek game versus the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech University on Tuesday, Feb. 11 has been postponed until further notice.

LAST MEETING | ALL-TIME SERIES
Southern Nazarene University - Monticello won the last game over the Crimson Storm in 7 innings on March 3, 2024, 18-3. The bats started off hot for the Weevils as Aidan Garrett and Chaz Poppy crossed the plate after a single to right field from Cade Cancilla. A two-run home run from Parker Dorrance stretched the Weevils lead to 4-0. The Crimson Storm scored a run in the bottom half of the inning, but Monticello stretched their lead to 7-1 after a three-run home run from Chaz Poppy. UAM posted a six-run inning in the top of the top of the third, kicked off by an RBI double down the right field line from Gunner Haskins to plate Brodie Romero. Two run home runs from Aidan Garrett and Cade Cancilla brought the Weevils lead to 12-1. The Weevils would also capitalize on a Crimson Storm error to make the game 13-1. SNU was only able to produce one run in the bottom of the third. The top of the sixth saw two more Weevils cross the plate with a SAC fly from DeShaun Cordova and a single from Chaz Poppy. The Weevils plated three more runs in the top of the seventh after a double to right field from Cordova. The Crimson Storm would not be able to make a come back, only scoring one run in the bottom of the seventh. UAM took the final game three of the three game series 18-3. | UAM holds a 25-8 overall record against the Crimson Storm, a record that dates back to April of 2013, a 1-2 loss for the Weevils. The Boll Weevils held a 15 game win streak over SNU from February of 2016 - April of 2022. At home in Monticello the Weevils are, 14-4, while in Bethany, Oklahoma they are 11-4. The largest margin of victory came in April of 2021, a powerhouse scoring game that ended 28-3 in 7 innings, with 11 runs scored in the 4th inning. Arkansas-Monticello has plated 345 runs in 33 games, averaging 10.45 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE WEEVILS
The Boll Weevils went 3-0 this past weekend beating the Griffons of Missouri Western State Univerity in a Saturday doubleheader, 5-2 and 4-3. UAM would take the final game of the series on Sunday 14-5, extending their 2025 season start to 5-1.
