SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Men's Golf continued its Spring season Monday, February 17 at the Men's Rattler Invitational, hosted by St. Mary's University (TX), in San Antonio, Texas at the Dominion Country Club. The Boll Weevils played two rounds (36 holes) on the first day, combining for a team score of 19-over par (91), to finish in place. UAM finished ahead of fellow GAC member Northwestern Oklahoma State University by 12 strokes.
The second round of the tournament began on Monday but was called due to darkness with three holes remaining to be played.
Leading the Weevils after the first day is freshman Connor Whitworth who fired a first round of 3-over par (75), to finish the day tied for 32nd.
Also tying for 32nd was senior Owen Page who shot 4-over par (76) in the first round
Freshman Landry Rogers found himself tied for 42nd after scoring 5-over par (77) for the day.
Closing out the day for UAM was junior Daniel Taylor and sophomore Chase Kisver who tied for 52nd. Taylor finished day one firing a 77 (+5), while Kisver scored 6-over par (78).
The Boll Weevils combined for 11 birdies on the day
The Weevils are back on the greens tomorrow Tuesday, Feb. 18, as they finish the second round and compete in the third and final round of the Men's Rattler Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. Tee-off is currently scheduled for 7:30 a.m. from The Dominion Country Club.
