MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team is gearing up to travel for a week of games with Christian Brothers University and Henderson State University. The Boll Weevils will hit the road Tuesday as they travel to Memphis, Tennessee for a 2:00 p.m. meeting with the Buccaneers, before heading to Arkadelphia, Arkansas for a three-game GAC series, on Friday, February 28 at 6:00 p.m., and a doubleheader Saturday, March 1 starting at 1:00 p.m. with the Reddies.

LAST MEETING
Christian Brothers University - The last meeting between the Weevils and the Buccaneers was held in March of 2019 in Monticello, with the Boll Weevils winning, 19-9. UAM plated six runs in the second, two in the third, ten in the fourth, and one in the fifth to take the game. Collectively the Weevils singled six times, tripled twice, and had two home runs off CBU.

Henderson State University - The Weevils were victorious in the last match-up, a doubleheader at home, taking the games, 4-2 and 5-4. The Reddies scored first in game two, belting a solo home run over the right field wall in the top of the fourth. HSU found their second run in the fifth inning on an RBI double to center field. Kirk Woolf drove in Monticello's first run in the sixth inning, scoring Cade Cancilla on the play. The Boll Weevils retook the lead in the seventh, scoring the tying run on a SAC fly, followed by two bases-loaded HBPs to go up 4-2. The Reddies were unable to respond, sealing the win for UAM. UAM kicked off the final game in the third, scoring a run on a balk, followed by an RBI single to put the home team up 2-0. After Henderson State grabbed a run in the fourth on a throwing error, the Boll Weevils responded with a 2 RBI double to left center from Kirk Woolf. The Reddies crossed the plate three times in the seventh, sending the game into extra with the score tied at 4-4. Parker Dorrance walked it off in the eighth, scoring the game-winner on an RBI single up the middle.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Christian Brothers University -  UAM leads 28-12 in the record over the Buccaneers. The first meeting came in March of 1986, a 2-5 loss for the Weevils, with the first win coming in 1997. The longest win streak for the men in green and white stands at nine, with games played between March 2010 through March 2019. At home in Monticello, the Weevils stand 17-3, while on the road they have an 11-9 record. In March of 1998, the Boll Weevils recorded the largest margin of victory with a final score of 19-2. The Weevils have plated 319 runs, averaging 7.98 runs per game through 40 games played.

Henderson State University - The Boll Weevils lead Henderson in the overall record, 70-55. The record book dates back to the first meeting in April of 1976 a 4-8 loss for UAM. The first win for the Weevils would occur on March 19, 1977, in Arkadelphia in a 5-4 decision, the very next game held on the same day would be a 0-2 UAM forfeit loss. The longest win streak for Monticello stands at eight, achieved between March of 2014 and May of 2016. At Union Bank Park the Weevils are 38-20, while on the road they are 25-34. Through 125 games played UAM has brought in 685 runs, averaging 5.48 runs per game.

LAST TIMEOUT FOR THE WEEVILS
The Weevils went 1-for-3 last week. Dropping their meeting with Statesmen of Delta State on February 18, 2-1. Before going 1-for-2 against the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist Sunday, Feb 23 and Monday, Feb. 24 going, 3-6,16-8,11-19.
