BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team lost both games in its second day of play at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic. They took on the Bulldogs of Truman State and the Hornets of Emporia State. The Blossoms concluded the first game with a 9-0 loss to the Bulldogs, followed by a 14-10 loss to the Hornets.

Scoring Recap:
Truman State was the only team to score throughout the ball game, plating nine runs. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the first, five in the second, and two in the fifth. The game would conclude in the fifth inning via run rule.
Pitching Performance:

Makenzie Martin started in the circle and took the loss on the day. Martin tossed 1.1 innings and saw five earned runs on four hits.

Kayla Olthouse saw 0.2 innings of work, giving up two earned runs on four hits.

Ronnie Johnson was the final pitcher, throwing the final 3.0 innings. Johnson allowed two earned runs on five hits.

Scoring Recap:
The Blossoms were on the board first, scoring two runs in the first.
Dacia Sexton plated the first on a, RBI single from
Aubree Goodnight. Goodnight would go on to score on an Emporia State error to put UAM up 2-0.
ESU responded with a run of its own in the bottom half of the inning.
Sophie Wood scored on an error in the second, followed by an RBI single from
Jadyn Hart in the second to push Monticello ahead 4-1.
Three runs in the second and four runs in the fourth, thanks to some situational hitting and an offensive showcase, pushed Emporia State back on top with an 8-4 advantage.
Wood drove in three in the top of the fifth with her first home run of the season to put UAM back within one.
A sacrifice fly and a single to left in the bottom of the inning increased Emporia State's lead to 10-7.
Jadyn Hart drove in three runs with her first home run of the year in the sixth, tying the game at 10-10.
The final four runs of the game came in the bottom of the sixth when the Hornets scored on a 2-RBI single and a two-run home run to center field. The game eventually concluded with a 14-10 loss for UAM to close the weekend.
