MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team closed out its second weekend of GAC play with the Reddies of Henderson State University on Saturday afternoon. The Blossoms took the three-game series, 2-1, as both teams left the second day with wins. The Blossoms dropped game one, 8-4, and won the final game, 5-3.

Henderson placed four runs on the board in the top of the first, a double to centerfield ran in one, while three Reddies crossed from a home run to left field.
The Blossoms tied it 4 all in the bottom of the fourth as
Ashlynne Vote drove one over the right-center field wall to score four unearned runs by
Jadyn Hart,
Aubree Goodnight Jade Keaton, and herself.
A bases-loaded walk in the fifth helped HSU retake the lead, 5-4.
The Reddies would seal game two with a three-run home run to take the game, 8-4.

Makenzie Martin started on the mound for the Blossoms pitching 5.0 innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out one.

Kyann Woods entered the game striking out one and allowing three runs on two hits and one walk.

Kayla Olthouse pitched the remaining 1.2 innings with one strikeout and one hit.

Aubree Goodnight kicked things off for Arkansas-Monticello as she singled through right field to score
Ashlynne Vote in the bottom of the second.
The Blossoms entered three more runs in the third as
Jadyn Hart doubled down the left-field line to drive in
Dacia Sexton.
Maddie Pfleging would score off Vote's ground out, and Hart would advance home off a double from Goodnight.
The Reddies would start to cut into the Blossoms lead with a double down the left field line in the fourth to score a run, making it 4-1.
Makenzie Martin was called in to pinch hit and drove a ball over the centerfield wall to make it 5-1 Blossoms in the fourth.
Henderson would score the remaining runs of the ball game in the top of the fifth as two runs would be brought in off a double to center field. UAM would take the final game, 5-3, and the series 2-1.

Jadyn Barger pitched the first 4.1 innings for the Blossoms allowing three runs on three hits and striking out one, earning her the win.

Kayla Olthouse struck out two and allowed two hits in her 1.2 innings of work.

Makenzie Martin entered for UAM and faced four batters, striking out one and allowing one hit in her 1.0 innings of work earning her the save.
