MONTICELLO, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello baseball team are preparing to welcome back the Statesman of Delta State University on Tuesday, March 11 for the second non-conference midweek game of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. from Weevils Field at Union Bank, however, due to field conditions from the weather over the weekend in Monticello, the midweek meeting is subject to change.

LAST MEETING
Delta State University - In a chilly Tuesday midweek game on February 18 the Statesman outlasted the Boll Weevils to win 2-1. Arkansas-Monticello added their first and only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth off a Chaz Poppy walk, scoring Kirk Woolf. Delta State put up two runs on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh, off a homer and a double to center. The runs would be enough to take the game, 2-1. John White was given the loss dropping him to a 0-1 record to start the 2025 season.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Delta State University - The Statesman holds the overall record against the Boll Weevils, 8-65, dating back to the first game held in February of 1986. The first win for the Weevils wouldn't come until February of 1993. At home in Monticello, the Weevils are 5-24, and away they sit at 3-40. When both teams played in the Gulf South Conference the conference record was 1-34 (Statesman). The largest margin of victory was a 17-9 win in March of 2018. Through 74 games played Monticello has plated 327 runs, averaging 4.42 runs per game.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE WEEVILS
The Boll Weevils went 3-0 last weekend sweeping the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech, 12-5, 12-2, 14-12. The final game of the series came off a ninth inning 2 run walk-off home run from Kirk Woolf
