MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello baseball team is set to welcome the Bison of Harding University to Weevils Field at Union Bank Park on Tuesday, March 18, for a midweek non-conference meeting. The first pitch for Tuesday evening's game has been moved up one hour to a 5:00 p.m. start.

LAST MEETING
Harding University - In the last meeting the Weevils secured a spot in the 2024 Great American Conference finals after taming the Bison, 7-6, at Dickey-Stephens Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Boll Weevils struck first on their second game of the weekend, seeing Chase Cripps bring home Camden Tanner in the first on a SAC fly to center field. Harding got on the board in the second on a two-run home run down the left-field line. Cripps grabbed his second RBI of the day in the third, driving in Kirk Woolf on a single to center. An RBI single in the seventh put HU back out front. UAM responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning, seeing two runs scored on RBI singles, two on wild pitches, and a final on a SAC fly ball to take a 7-3 lead over Harding. The Bisons put three runs on the board in the eighth, but the effort was cut short, eventually ending the game with a 7-6 win for UAM. The win on the day gave UAM their 31st victory of the 2024 season. Dylan Vail (4-1) recorded the win with Nelson Mercado (7) earning the save. 

ALL-TIME SERIES
Harding University - The Boll Weevils trail the Bison 57-66 all-time, dating back to their first match-up in April of 1976, a 2-8 loss for UAM. Harding and Arkansas-Monticello have met a total of 123 times, with the Weevils standing at 30-33 at home, 23-30 on the road in Searcy, and 4-3 at neutral locations. The boys in green and white have brought 731 Boll Weevils since the first game averaging 5.94 runs per game. The largest margin of victory over the Bison came in March of 2002 when the Weevils won 19-2. The last time these two teams met in conference play the Weevils won the series 2-1, 13-2 (7 innings), 3-1, 4-8.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE WEEVILS
The Boll Weevils went 1-2 this past weekend falling in the series to the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. UAM took game one, 5-3, before dropping games two (3-2) and three (2-9) to the Dogs.
