MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team faced off against the Lady Statesmen of Delta State University Tuesday afternoon in a midweek doubleheader. The Blossoms finished by splitting the meeting with DSU, beating the Lady Statesmen in game one, 5-0, before falling, 9-12, in game two.

Scoring Recap:
Arkansas-Monticello scored the only runs in the game, putting the first two up in the third.
Lauren Spoon advanced home via a sacrifice fly-out and a single from
Sophie Wood brought in
Lainey Tippen.
The Blossoms etched the remaining three runs in the sixth, with
Ashlynne Vote reaching home off a
Jessica Smith shot to the right side. Spoon sacrificed to shortstop to bring in
Jade Keaton as a fielders choice scored Tippen, to end the game 5-0 for UAM.

Scoring Recap:
Delta State commenced the scoring in the first off a two-run home run down the left-field line.
UAM responded right back in the bottom of the inning as
Jadyn Hart tripled to left field driving in
Dacia Sexton. Hart herself crossed home off the ground.
The Lady Statesmen tack four more runs in the next inning, starting with a bases-loaded wild pitch walk and a bases-loaded hit by pitch. A single to third base and a sacrifice fly to left field drove in the remaining two runs.
Jessica Smith placed the only run on the board for the Blossoms in the second coming in off an error from DSU.
In the third a wild pitch and a single helped the Delta State add two runs making it a 9-3 ball game.
Arkansas-Monticello added the next four runs between the third and sixth innings. Hart scored in the third off a fielder's choice, while Keaton crossed via a wild pitch in the fourth. In the sixth
Kammie Walker doubled down the left field line bringing in
Sophie Wood, Walker scored on the very next pitch off a sacrifice fly.
A home run, single and double in the top of the seventh helped the Lady Statesmen put themselves ahead by five, 12-7.
The Blossoms could only manage to plate two runs in the bottom of the seventh,
Carleigh Deeds crossed courtesy of a wild pitch and Keaton crossed off a
Maddie Pfleging single up the middle, as Delta State would walk out of the park with a 12-9 win.
UAM put up at least one run in every inning minus the fifth.
