MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils welcomed the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State University to Weevils Field at Union Bank Park Friday this weekend for a conference series. The Friday night doubleheader kicked off at 3:00 p.m., with the Weevils taking game one, 4-3, and game two, 8-4. UAM completed the sweep on Saturday with a 13-2 run-rule victory in the eighth.
Game 1, 10 Innings

Scoring Recap:
Northwestern Oklahoma was the first on the board in game one, scoring a run in both the third and fourth innings on RBI singles.
Chaz Poppy drove in Kirk Woolf on a single to left for UAM's first run of the game in the fourth. Justin Santoyo tied the score at 2-2 in the sixth on an RBI of his own.
A bases-loaded walk in the seventh once again gave the Rangers a 3-2 advantage.
The Boll Weevils drove in the tying run in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Logan Jones on a sacrifice fly from Roc Hawthorne.
Cade Cancilla drove in the winner in the tenth, resulting in a 4-3 win for UAM.
Pitching Performances

Connor Irvine started on the bump in the series opener, throwing 6.1 innings with three runs allowed on eight hits. He struck out seven batters in his outing.

Nelson Mercado grabbed the win, throwing the final 3.2 innings. He allowed no runs and no hits with seven Ks.

The Boll Weevils scored three runs in the bottom of the first, with Roc Hawthorne crossing the plate first on a throwing error from the catcher after stealing third. The second and third runs were plated from bases-loaded walks.
Northwestern Oklahoma responded in the second with a run scored on a double play ball.
Hawthorne touched home for a second time in the bottom half of the inning, scoring on a wild pitch to make it a 4-1 ball game.
Logan Jones grabbed two RBI in the third on a triple to center field. He was brought home by Hawthorne on a line drive.
Cade Cancilla drove in the final run for UAM on a double down the right field line in the fifth to increase the Boll Weevil lead to 8-1.
The Rangers found three runs in the seventh, but saw the effort fall flat as the doubleheader closed with two wins for UAM.
Pitching Performances
- Maxim Mracovcic started on the mound for UAM, tossing 5.1 innings with one run allowed on five hits. He struck out six batters.

Trey Miller saw 1.0 inning of work, allowing three runs on one hit. He struck out one batter.

Chase Cripps put UAM up 3-0 in the first with a three-run bomb to right-center. Chaz Poppy and Kirk Woolf were brought home on the drive.
Northwestern Oklahoma scored its only two runs of the ball game in the third.
The Boll Weevils would score 10 runs between the third and eighth innings. Kirk Woolf brought home Roc Hawthorne in the third and Cade Cancilla drove in Justin Santoyo in the fourth to increase the lead to 5-2.
Camden Tanner drove in Aidan Garrett on a double in the seventh. Chaz Poppy followed up with another double to right center, scoring two runs on the play.
Aidan Garrett increased the lead to 11-2 in the eighth on a home run to left field. Kirk Woolf would end the game on a walk-off home run to run-rule the Rangers 13-2 and secure the series sweep.

Bryce Louis started game three, grabbing the win with 5.0 innings pitched and only two runs allowed on six hits.
