EL DORADO, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello men's golf team competed in the Arkansas Collegiate Tournament, hosted by Southern Arkansas University Monday and Tuesday at the Mystic Creek Golf Club in El Dorado, Arkansas. The 54-hole tournament came to a close Tuesday evening with the Boll Weevils finishing in eighth place with a three round combined scored of 962 (+98).
Sophomore Chase Kisver and senior Owen Page led the way for the Boll Weevils in the tournament, both finished tied for 31st with a three round score of 239 (+23). Kisver penciled a 8-over par (80) in rounds one and two, before carding a 79 (+7) in the final round, while Page fired a 81 (+9) in the first and third round and a 5-over par (77) in round 2.
Next up for UAM was senior Aidan Rooke and junior Daniel Taylor who both shot a combined score of 26-over par (242), to finished tied for 38. Rooke cared a +6 (78) in round one, and a 12-over par (84) and round two before penciling a 80 (+8) in round three. Taylor fired a 13-over par (85) in round one, before besting his carding to 6-over par (78) and 79 (+7) in rounds two and three.
Competing individually for Arkansas-Monticello and finishing tied for 51st, 33-over par (249), after carding 11-over par (83) in all three rounds is freshman Landry Rogers.
Freshman Carson Slaughter closed things out for the Weevils, carding a final score of 262 (+46). Slaughter went 17-over (89) in round one, before penciling a 90 (+18) and 83 (+11) in rounds two and three.
Combined for the tournament the Weevils achieved 14 birdies.
The Boll Weevils will close out the regular season on April 7 and 8 at the 2025 Battle at Riverhill Tournament hosted by St. Marys University (TX) and Cameron University at Riverhill Country Club in Kerrville, Texas.
