SEARCY, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello baseball team pulled off an upsetting 2-1 series victory over the #15 ranked Harding University Bisons Friday evening. The Boll Weevils played 22 innings in the doubleheader, taking game one, 10-1, and game two, 5-4, in 13 innings.

Game 2, 9 Innings

Arkansas- Monticello: 10, Harding 1

Scoring Recap:
Justin Santoyo kicked off the scoring for the Weevils in the second game scoring Camden Tanner in the first on a single to right field. 

The Bisons would score their lone run of the game off a home run in the third. 

The Weevils brought three more runs in the fifth as Kirk Woolf crossed on a bases-loaded walk, Tanner reached home for the second time via a throwing error from the Harding, and Santoyo made it home as Chase Cripps doubled down the left field line.

Arkansas-Monticello added the commanding cushion runs in the sixth as four Weevils found their way to home plate. Santoyo would once again provide the opportunity for Tanner to cross, Cripps again scored Santoyo, Aidan Garrett plated Cripps, and Roc Hawthorne would close out the scoring bringing in Garrett.

The final two runs in the eighth would be the last, as the game would come to a close in the ninth 10-1 for UAM.

Pitching Performances
- Maxim Mrakovcic pitched all 9.0 innings for the Boll Weevils allowing one run on 12 hits and striking out five batters.

Offensive Showcase
- Justin Santoyo - 3-for-4 with 3RBI and two runs scored.
- Chase Cripps - 3-for-4 with a double, 1RBI and one run scored.

Game 3, 13 Innings

Scoring Recap:
The Boll Weevils would once again kick off the scoring in what would prove to be an epic game as Logan Jones crossed home in the third off Kirk Woolf single to left, Roc Hawthorne was plated on a ground out and Woolf would round home as Chaz Poppy singled to left.

A fourth run for Monticello would come off the bat of Roc Hawthorne as he drove a ball over the right field wall. 

Harding would add three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to tie the game 4-4.

Stretching past the originally scheduled seven innings to the 13th, Kyle Tolley found his was home from second as Camden Tanner singled to right field. 

The Weevils would seal the game, 5-4, and series, 2-1 in the bottom of the 13th.

Pitching Performances
- Bryce Louis started on the mound for the Weevils pitching 4.0 innings allowing two runs on three hits striking out one batter.
- Nelson Mercado pitched 3.0 innings for UAM striking out two, allowing two runs on three hits.
- Kyle Roop was called from the bullpen and struck out one batter in 4.0 innings on the mound.
- Trey Miller earned the win on the mound after pitching 2.0 innings striking out four.

Offensive Showcase
- Logan Jones - 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored. 
- Camden Tanner - 2-for-7 with a double, stolen base, and 2RBIs.
- Kirk Woolf - 2-for-7 with a stolen base, 1RBI and one run scored.

The Boll Weevils keep the season moving on Tuesday, April 1, as they welcome the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University for a non-conference midweek game. The first pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. at Weevils Field at Union Bank Park.
