Walker's Walk-Off Home Run in Ninth Gives Softball 5-4 Win Over #13 Harding

MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team closed out its three-game series with the Lady Bisons of Harding University on Friday afternoon at Alvy Early Field at Ryburn Park. The game would go to extras, ending in the bottom of the ninth on a walk-off home run from Kammie Walker, 5-4.

Scoring Recap:
Harding was the first to score in game three, posting two runs in the second. The Lady Bisons increased their lead to 4-0 in the third, plating the first on a solo home run, followed by an RBI single.

The Blossom offense rallied in the bottom half of the inning, tying the game with four runs. UAM saw three RBI doubles with Aubry O'Bryant driving in Lainey Tippen, Jadyn Hart bringing home O'Byrant, and Cada Collins scored Hart. The fourth run came on an RBI single from Sophie Wood.

Kammie Walker walked the game off in the bottom of the ninth with a home run off the foul pole in left field. The drive resulted in a 5-4 victory for UAM.

Pitching Performance:
- Kayla Olthouse started in the circle for game three, throwing 3.0 innings with three earned runs on eight hits.
- Kyann Woods took the rubber in the fourth, tossing 6.0 total innings of shutout pitching. She allowed only two hits and got the win.

Offensive Scoring Performance:
- Kammie Walker - 1-for-3 with a home run, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored
- Sophie Wood - 2-for-3 with 1 RBI, and 1 walk
- Jadyn Hart - 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored
- Aubry O'Bryant - 1-for-2 with a double, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored

UP NEXT
The Blossoms will return to the field on Friday, April 4 as they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist. Game one of the three game series is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch at the "Petesy" Langston Softball Field.
