MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The Arkansas-Monticello baseball opened its final conference series on Friday afternoon with a doubleheader against the rival Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University. The Boll Weevils fell in game one, 3-2, but prevailed in game two, 2-1.

Chaz Poppy put the Boll Weevils ahead early, launching a two-run home run in the first. Kirk Woolf scored on the drive.
The Muleriders saw three solo home runs throughout the ball game. the first in the fifth, a second in the sixth, and the final in the eighth to reclaim the lead. SAU would take game one of the series, 3-2.

Connor Irvine started on the mound for UAM, taking the loss on 7.0 innings pitched with three runs allowed on seven hits. He struck out three batters in his outing.

Kyle Roop threw the final inning for the Boll Weevils. He allowed no runs and no hits with a strikeout through four batters faced.

SAU scored first in game two, scoring in the first inning on an RBI single up the middle.
UAM reclaimed the lead in the second with two runs scored. Aidan Garrett drove in Camden Tanner for the first on a double down the right field line. Cade Cancilla drove in Elijah Nichols for the second on a sacrifice fly to left field.
Southern Arkansas was unable to score another run in the ballgame, resulting in a 2-1 win for Arkansas-Monticello.
Pitching Performances
- Maxim Mrakovcic tossed all 7.0 innings for the Boll Weevils in game two. He allowed one run on four hits with six strikeouts to gain his eighth win of the season.
