MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevil baseball team punched their ticket to the 2025 NCAA DII Central Region Tournament for the second straight year this past Sunday. The seventh-seeded Weevils are set to take on the number two-seeded,and tournament host, Minnesota State University - Mankato Mavericks on Thursday, May 15 at 6:00 p.m. from ISG Field in Mankato, Minnesota. The tournament (one of two tournaments for the Central Region) is set as a double elimination bracket being held Thursday, May 15 - Sunday, May 18, with Sunday's game being played if necessary.

LAST TIME OUT VERSUS THE MAVERICKS
The Boll Weevils are currently 4-8 against the Mavericks, with a record dating back to the first meeting on February 9, 2014. UAM split the first meeting in a doubleheader with the Mavericks (8-5, 3-4). The last meeting between these two fierce teams coincidentally came in the 2019 NCAA DII Central Region Tournament, held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with the Weevils besting MSU, 13-2. The 2019 team were lead at the plate by Cade Thompson, Kalen Warden, John Mauldin, Jordan Johnson, David Reyna, Andrew Priaino, Dylan Borman, and Brodie Treat. Warden, Johnson, Piraino, and Borman all recorded a home run helping lead UAM to victory, behind a complete game pitched by Matt Lundh, who struck out seven batters, only allowing the two runs on eight hits.
SERIES HISTORY'S WITH PITTSBURG STATE AND HENDERSON STATE
Pittsburg State University: Should the Boll Weevils face Pittsburg State in the regional, it will be the meeting number 5 in the all-time series dating back to February of 2015. The Weevils lead the series 3-1. UAM took the first meeting in 2015, 7-3, and then a took a series from the Gorillas in February of 2018 going 2-1, winning games one and two 8-7, 11-1, before dropping game three 5-13.
Henderson State University: Should Arkansas - Monticello face the Reddies of Henderson State it will be the seventh meeting of the 2025 season, 132 meeting overall, and the first NCAA Regional Postseason meeting between the two teams. The Weevils have faced off against Henderson State six times in 2025 going 1-5 against the Reddies (Series 1-2: 2-12, 7-8, 4-2, Midweek: 9-11, GAC Tournament: 7-8, 3-4).
